Education

He holds an LLM in International Business Law from the University of London and a DEA in Private International Law and International Commerce as well as a PhD in International Arbitration Law from the Sorbonne Law School (University of Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne).

Background

Jamsheed was trained at the leading commercial, banking and finance set, 3 Verulam Buildings, in London and in the International Arbitration Group of the magic-circle international law firm, Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, in Paris.

He has taught law at the Sorbonne Law School and has worked as a Junior Research Fellow at the British Institute of International and Comparative Law. He is a member of the ICC Task Force on the enforcement of foreign arbitral awards and regularly teaches arbitration law and company law in the Mauritian Law Practitioners’ Vocational Course.

As a barrister at Peeroo Chambers, Jamsheed has worked on numerous high-profile matters, often relating to or within the African continent, in various sectors and areas including infrastructure financing and building, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, technology products, E-commerce, energy and petroleum derivatives.

He heads our International Arbitration section and is familiar with most leading international arbitration rules. He regularly acts as counsel in domestic and international arbitrations and is a member of the panel of arbitrators of the MARC (MCCI).
Jamsheed is fully bilingual (English and French) and splits his time between London and Mauritius.
