Kerem Turunç is a partner based in the Istanbul office of the law firm TURUNÇ, a full-service Turkish law firm with offices in Istanbul, Izmir and Ankara. Mr. Turunç specializes financial transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
Mr. Turunç has extensive experience representing issuers and underwriters in international and domestic finance transactions and securities offerings. Mr. Turunç also has substantial experience in inbound, outbound and domestic private and public M&A deals, representing corporate and private equity buyers and sellers alike, including in corporate reorganizations, leveraged buy-outs and spin-offs. In addition advising them on transactions, Mr. Turunç works closely with private equity and venture capital funds on fund formation and structuring issues. He also advises international and domestic clients extensively on public and private company governance matters. Mr. Turunç’s experience covers many jurisdictions including Turkey, the European Union, the United States, Latin America, Asia, Israel and Russia, and a wide variety of industries including automotive, banking, consumer goods, energy, infrastructure, health care, industrial goods, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications and transportation.
He has served as an adjunct professor at Yeditepe University Faculty of Law, and has also lectured at Harvard Law School, Kadir Has University Faculty of Law and New York University. He is a board member of the Istanbul Arbitration Association and a member of the Turkish Industry & Business Association (TÜSİAD).
Mr. Turunç is admitted to the Bars of New York, the District of Columbia, England & Wales and Istanbul. He is also a member of the American Bar Association and the International Bar Association.
