Jennifer Wang joined Chen & Lin in September 1999. She is now the partner of Chen & Lin and leads the capital & M&A team. Her specialized legal areas include securities, corporate, M&A, anti-trust, E-commerce and investments and technical cooperation between Cross-Strait. Jennifer is experienced in cross-border and domestic M&A transactions with wide variety from merger, share swap, tender offer, stock purchase to asset and business acquisition. She also has extensive experiences in assisting the client for corporate restructuring, overseas and domestic IPO and fund raising, foreign investment application, establishment of R&D or training center in Taiwan, government cash grants application, joint venture and anti-trust compliance. She is also expert at designing, drafting and negotiating various kinds of commercial agreements and general corporate matters.
Jennifer serves clients with a wide range of industries. The industries of the client Jennifer served or is now serving, include semiconductor equipment, semiconductor, IC design, other hi-tech, manufacturing, on-line and mobile games, E-commerce, group-buying, bank, cable TV, fashion sports, entertainment, restaurant etc. Jennifer serves many leading multinational or domestic companies. Through her diligence in understanding the character of each different industry and with her service in depth, clients highly appreciate her professionalism.
To advance her knowledge, Jennifer went to the U.S., obtaining her second master degree from the Columbia University School of Law in 2003. In the same year, Jennifer passed the New York State bar examination and, as recommended by Chen & Lin, worked as an international associate at Simpson Thatcher & Bartlett LLP. Realizing transaction lawyers must have fundamental understanding about the proceedings of disputes so as to give the clients proactive advices, Jennifer participated in commercial litigations and related dispute proceedings before becoming a transaction lawyer. Jennifer firmly believes that a professional lawyer should equip her/himself with wide yet in-depth analysis capability and that she/he should understand the commercial needs of the clients and should not provide the advice merely sticking to the appearance of the law provisions. Jennifer keeps reminding herself and the team the above belief and hopes to contribute the society.
