Obtained judgments against former employees and dismissals of all cross complaints. - Represented technology company in the defense of a substantial sexual harassment/wrongful termination claim brought by a former key executive employee. The claims against the Company were disproven during the discovery phase of the litigation and the plaintiff's credibility became the major issue in the case. As a result, this matter was resolved through a highly favorable settlement which included a payment from the plaintiff to the Company. - Obtained stipulated judgment for a computer products company against a competitor (and individual defendants) who raided and recruited employees subject to term employment agreements. Pursuant to the stipulated judgment, damages were paid, other remedial actions were taken and the competitor ceased all raiding. - Successfully represented motion picture company in multi-million dollar merchandising claim. The case was arbitrated with over ten days of hearing and obtained a decision in favor of MSK's client. - Successfully represented employers in numerous arbitrations, including contract interpretation disputes and wrongful termination issues. - Chief negotiator for several collective bargaining agreements containing budget-related concessions and innovative resolutions of health insurance issues. - Chief negotiator on several precedent-setting entertainment industry collective bargaining agreements. - Representation of major motion picture studio and producer in lawsuit brought by screenwriter contending his screenplay entitled him to credits and compensation with respect to a well known motion picture. Successfully removed the case to federal court on preemption grounds and obtained summary judgment which was affirmed by the U.S. Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals. - Represented television network in an extensive high profile government investigation involving alleged child labor law violations. Atty. Valeriano Del Rosario is the managing partner of VeraLaw and he has extensive education and business experience in the U.S. and Europe. Val, as he is known, was educated at Georgetown Preparatory School and New York University. He returned to the Philippines and obtained his law degree at the Ateneo College of Law with honors, and qualified as a lawyer in 1982. He obtained a masters degree in maritime law from the University of Wales, Institute of Science & Technology, United Kingdom, followed by three years of legal practice at the law firm of Sinclair Roche and Temperley in the City of London. Val is active in the arrest and release of ships, ship and mortgage registration, cargo claims, and ship collision and salvage. He has been involved for 25 years with the “Dona Paz”, which has been litigated in the Philippines, Texas and Louisiana, U.S.A., and which is the largest peacetime maritime disaster in the world. Val works with UK P&I Clubs, and Japanese shipowners. Val has advised and assisted Japanese shipowners through the web of Philippine regulation, in order for them to be able to establish a presence in the Philippines. On the commercial law side, he has recently assisted a Philippine client through a complicated mediation involving company subsidiaries involved in litigation in the States of Delaware and California, and the Philippines. He is also heavily involved in advising clients on insurance and commercial law disputes. Lately, he has been active in ship pollution claims on behalf of ship owners. He was President of the Maritime Law Association of the Philippines in the year 2000. Outside of work, Val and his wife collect Philippine contemporary art, especially the works of National Artist Bencab. He also teaches Transportation law as a lecturer at the Ateneo College of Law for over 10 years.

Dr. Jonathan De Giovanni is a Partner at WDM International. He is responsible for the legal and international tax service lines at the Firm, which are offered via WDM Lex Advisory, the firm’s legal services firm and company services provider. Jonathan graduated as Doctor of Laws in 2009 from the University of Malta defending a thesis entitled ‘Domestic and Treaty based Anti-Abuse Provisions to Combat Tax Treaty Abuse: An Analysis’, while contemporaneously reading for a Master of Arts in Financial Services at the University of Malta. He successfully completed his master’s degree in 2011 with the same university, graduating magna cum laude after submitting a thesis regarding the international taxation of investment funds. Jonathan provides direct and international corporate tax advice to a vast array of clients involved in complex cross border operations. In his daily work he is involved in the application and interpretation of double taxation treaties, EU tax law and case law as well as Maltese income tax legislation. His practice also includes providing tax advice to high net worth individuals in relation to immigration and tax issues. As an Authorised Registered Mandatory (ARM) under Maltese legislation, Jonathan advises clients who are seeking to obtain Maltese residency under different residency programs, both from an immigration and tax perspective. Within this remit he also specialises in providing high net worth individuals with bespoke solutions and pertinent structuring for both their personal and corporate requirements. Jonathan has also provided legal advice to financial services operators, wishing to passport their rights, re-domicile or set up their operations in Malta, particularly focused on retail and professional investor funds and investment services. To this end he assists clients through the entire licensing process and with the drafting of pertinent documentation in relation thereto. He is approved by the Malta Financial Services Authority to hold the positions of Director, Compliance officer and Money Laundering Reporting Officer, for entities licensed by the MFSA including funds and other regulated entities. He is also heavily involved in Aviation Law, having delivered various high calibre seminars in the field. He also delivers lectures at the University of Malta to law students in relation to the fiscal aspects of aircraft registration. His field of practice includes advising clients in relation to aircraft registration and structures involving aircraft ownership, financing and leasing. Jonathan is a Council Member of the Malta Institute of Taxation, a Member of the International Fiscal Association (IFA), a Member of the Tax and Unregulated Business Committee of the Institute of Financial Services Practitioners (IFSP), a member of the Malta Institute of Management and a Investment Migration Council (IMC). He currently also lectures the Advanced Taxation Module (P6) to students reading for the ACCA qualification. In July 2013 Jonathan also delivered several lectures in relation to topical issues in the sphere of International taxation, for a course organised by the Malta Institute of Taxation, lecturing subject matters such as corporate anti-avoidance provisions, the taxation of aircraft operations and the taxation of collective investment vehicles, amongst others. Between 2013 and 2014 Jonathan was appointed as a member on the steering committee for the International Referral Tax group.
